Midweek for the Master
Coordinators: David & Charlene Rhea, Charles & Brenda Lowry, and Charles & Julia Thacker
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be
evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service,
so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. — Ephesians 4:11-13
Our Midweek for the Master program encourages members to be more active in work for the Lord and render support and service to members and visitors to enrich their lives and assist in their well-being.
Areas of work, taken from Ephesians 4, are as follows:
- Community Outreach
- Encouragement through card writing, telephone calls, visitation to those who are in need, those who are weak in attendance, those who are ill, and those who are grieving
We meet on Wednesday evenings except during summer months. A meal is served at 6:15 pm for the members who desire it, and work assignments are given to workers afterwards. These assignments do not necessarily have to be completed Wednesday night or conflict with Wednesday night classes. Assignments must be completed by Sunday evening, and the assignment sheet, returned to the box at the Information Desk.
