It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be
evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service,
so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
— Ephesians 4:11-13

Our Midweek for the Master program encourages members to be more active in work for the Lord and render support and service to members and visitors to enrich their lives and assist in their well-being.

Areas of work, taken from Ephesians 4, are as follows:

  • Community Outreach
  • Encouragement through card writing, telephone calls, visitation to those who are in need, those who are weak in attendance, those who are ill, and those who are grieving

We meet on Wednesday evenings except during summer months. A meal is served at 6:15 pm for the members who desire it, and work assignments are given to workers afterwards. These assignments do not necessarily have to be completed Wednesday night or conflict with Wednesday night classes. Assignments must be completed by Sunday evening, and the assignment sheet, returned to the box at the Information Desk.

Wednesday Devotional Speakers

Coordinator: Dan Camp

Dan Camp

We start our Wednesday Bible Class program off by having everyone gather in the auditorium at 7:00 p.m. for a brief devotional period which includes singing one song, the presentation of a devotional thought, and a prayer. Then everyone is dismissed to go their respective classes.

The devotionals are presented by one of nine men who have volunteered to present their devotional on an annual basis. Dan Camp is responsible for the selection, coordination, and scheduling of these speakers. Depending on what day of the week the year starts and how the holidays for the year align with Wednesday nights, most of our devotional speakers will average presenting five devotionals during the year. However, due to travel, extended work demands, and personal or family illness, some of our presenters may have to swap out dates with one of the other presenters to accommodate these needs. Presenters are welcome to handle these swaps as long as they notify Dan Camp about the specifics of the change before it takes place.

This program has given many of these men their first opportunity to present a brief devotional in an auditorium setting. All of them have done very well and have shown more confidence and improved presentation skills with each subsequent presentation. Each of our presenters is responsible for selecting his material and preparing his presentation on his own. One of the biggest challenges the presenter faces is keeping his presentation to five minutes!

Any of the men or teenage boys in the congregation who wish to participate in this program for the upcoming year should contact Dan Camp, in person, no later than December of the current year.
